Great Golf & Friendly Service...Come Play Briar Leaf!

Just one hour from Chicago and 15 minutes from Lake Michigan in LaPorte, IN, the Briar Leaf Golf Club offers great test of golf in a convenient location. Built on a farm in the 1970s, our 35-year-old classical layout has been undergoing numerous improvements each year that have made Briar Leaf a favorite Michiana golf destination.

Bunker Renovation Update!!!!
Our committment to excellence
continues! We are continuing our
comprehensive bunker renovation project and have just completed work on holes: 2, 9, 10, 11 14, 16 & 18. New mounding, shaping, drainage and the highest quality sand have made this project one that is transforming our course right before your eyes!

We now have only four holes left to complete this far-reaching project. If you
haven't played Briar Leaf recently, you'll be amazed at all of the upgrades!

Briar Leaf offers four sets of tees allowing players to enjoy the course from wherever they choose to play.  While the course is scenic and challenging from the forward and middle tees, the back tees (slope rating 133) will give the low handicapper all they want in a great test of golf.

Come tackle some of our most memorable holes...

    Hole 3 - 303 yards - Par 4 - "Alcatraz"
The most famous, or infamous, hole at Briar Leaf is hole number three,
nicknamed "Alcatraz."  Featuring an island green (pictured above), the short
approach you'll have to this green is sure to test your nerves.  The green was
completely rebuilt in the fall of '07 and now offers 800 sq. ft of
additional putting surface than was available before.
 The green has been
flattened and shaped to make it more receptive to shots into the green.

    Hole 4 - 529 yards - Par 5 - "Road"
How straight can you hit it?  On this hole, hopefully your answer is "straight!"
Lined by trees with sand on the right and the road on the left, number four is a
great straightforward par five.  When you finish the hole, look back down the
fairway and see how narrow it appears from this perspective.

    Hole 9 - 419 yards - Par 4
Players must negotiate water on the right and woods on the left on this long
bending par four.  The second shot is uphill to a large green (thankfully!) and a
par here is always a good score.  Number nine is pictured below.

    Hole 12 - 399 yards - Par 4
From an elevated tee, number 12 is laying out in front of you.  Your tee shot
must carry a pond and then avoid another water hazard on the left side of the
fairway in the landing area.  The green is tucked against a bunker on the left
    and O.B. on the right.

    Hole 15 - 381 yards - Par 4
Although the yardage doesn't suggest it, number 15 is one of the toughest
holes on the course.  The fairway slopes violently from left to right and the
green is guarded by a giant stand of oaks on the left side.  This leaves you
with a shot that is best suited for a right to left shot with a stance in the fairway
that almost guarantees a left to right shot.  Any par here, no matter how ugly,
should make you smile.  Number 15 green is pictured at the top of this section.

Briar Leaf features a great variety of holes so that you never get tired of playing
the course.  Call us at (219) 326-1992 to book your tee time!  We look forward
to seeing you at Briar Leaf!
